A $4 million federal funding award is moving forward a University of Maine effort to 3D-print homes out of wood waste.
A University of Maine effort to build houses through 3D printing, using wood waste rather than conventional lumber, has taken a step forward with $4 million in new federal funding, NEWS CENTER Maine reported. The money will let the university continue developing the process, according to the report. NEWS CENTER Maine reported that the announcement did not include a construction timeline, the number of homes planned or a location for the homes.
