Husson University fired an assistant professor on October 30 within an hour of learning of a criminal investigation into him, and escorted him from campus, WGME reported.

Jonathan Houck, 33, of Bangor faces 10 charges covering possession of child sex abuse material and violation of privacy, according to the Bangor Daily News, as cited by WGME.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said it received a tip in June that an account using the screen name "Johnathan Houck" had uploaded four files showing children being sexually exploited, dated from 2020 to 2026. Investigators traced the account to a home on Pearl Street in Bangor, about 350 feet from a school, according to the report.

Police obtained a search warrant in September for the home and for Houck's office and seized 26 electronic devices.

Houck taught exercise testing and interpretation. A former student said on social media that he asked her to undress completely while he was her professor, telling her it was necessary for an accurate weight reading. One person who said she was secretly recorded issued a statement about the allegations.

A Husson University spokesperson issued a statement, WGME reported.
