Hampden Academy's Top 2026 Grads Head to Pre-Vet, Tech and a Mission

Valedictorian Lucy Withee, salutatorian Wyatt Wilson and essayist Brooke Porter are bound for colleges in Maine, Massachusetts and Idaho.

Hampden Academy has named its top academic honorees for the Class of 2026, according to the Bangor Daily News. Valedictorian Lucy Withee of Hampden was a leader in several school groups, serving as senior captain of the varsity soccer and tennis teams and vice president of the National Honor Society and Spanish Club. She plans to study animal science at the University of Maine.

Salutatorian Wyatt Wilson of Orrington led the Drama Club and Acafellas Men's Choir and was chosen for several statewide music ensembles, including All State Choir. He plans to attend Gordon College in Massachusetts to study business analytics and computer science.

Honors essayist Brooke Porter of Hampden served as senior captain of the cross country team and held leadership roles in the Spanish Club and National Honor Society. After graduation, she plans to serve an 18-month religious mission in Ecuador before studying biology at BYU Idaho.
