A stretch of Route 302 in Windham was shut down for about 35 minutes on the night of October 26 after a construction crew hit a natural gas line, WMTW reported.

The Windham Fire Department said the crew damaged a 2-inch gas service line at about 10 p.m. The Cumberland County Regional Communications Center said the closure covered Roosevelt Trail, or Route 302, at its intersection with River Road.

Windham's fire chief said the road stayed closed until crews from Unitil, the gas utility, reached the site, stopped the leak and started repair work. The road has since reopened.

No injuries were reported in the material.
