Drought-Weakened Trees Threaten Power Outages As Nor'easter Nears
WMTW says drought-stressed trees and high nor'easter winds could knock out power in scattered spots across Maine.
High winds from an approaching nor'easter combined with drought-stressed trees could cause isolated power outages across Maine over the weekend of Sept. 26, WMTW's Emily Pike reported. The station said drought has left trees more likely to come down in strong wind, raising the risk of downed power lines. WMTW said outages are possible in scattered locations statewide as the storm moves through the region.
