Diesel prices in Maine reached their highest level on record on September 24, 2026, climbing to $6.52 a gallon, NEWS CENTER Maine reported. Economic experts told the station that at least part of that increase in fuel costs is being passed along to consumers. The station did not specify how much of the increase is being absorbed by businesses versus passed on to the price of goods and services.
