Portland Minor League Teams Add $100M To City Economy
Mayor Mark Dion cited a study crediting the four teams with jobs and spending gains.
Portland's four minor league sports teams generated more than $100 million for the city's economy, according to a study cited by Mayor Mark Dion, NEWS CENTER Maine reported. Dion presented the findings at a press conference alongside representatives of the four teams. He said the study found the teams supported new jobs and boosted retail and hospitality revenue in the city. The teams were not named in the report.
