CMMC Places Three Nurses On Leave Amid Union Vote

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston has placed three nurses on leave as they push to unionize, NEWS CENTER Maine reported. A group of care providers held a picket at the hospital, objecting to its ownership by Prime Healthcare amid the unionization campaign. The station reported that the nurses are scheduled to vote on unionizing on September 24, 2026, nine days after the picket. The vote's outcome will determine whether the nurses secure union representation at the hospital.
