Knowles Mechanical is a heating, cooling, plumbing and solar contracting company that serves Central and Southern Maine, according to its website. The company describes its coverage area as reaching from Augusta to Portland and from Bangor to Bath, including Waterville, Lewiston, Brunswick, Windham and Auburn, and says it is open around the clock for emergencies.
Heating, Cooling and Plumbing
The company's website lists furnace installation and repair, heat pump repair, air conditioner repair and ductless mini-split systems among its core heating and cooling services. Knowles says it installs high-efficiency furnaces that run on natural gas, oil, propane or electricity, and that most furnace installations finish within a single day. Its licensed plumbers handle fixture installation, leak detection and water heater work, covering both tank and tankless models, according to the website.
A Separate Solar Division
Knowles Mechanical also runs a solar contracting division for Maine businesses, the website says, offering rooftop and ground-mount solar arrays along with battery storage systems that pair with solar for backup power and peak demand management. The company says it works with brands including Trane, American Standard, York and Mitsubishi, and that financing options and Efficiency Maine rebates are available to offset the cost of upgrades.
Family-Owned, Licensed and Insured
The company describes itself on its website as family-owned and focused on local customers, with technicians it says are fully licensed, insured and trained on current equipment. It says it provides detailed estimates before starting work and states on its website that it is rated five stars on Google. The website says it understands the demands Maine's climate and older building stock place on heating, cooling and plumbing systems, and that homeowners who don't see their own town listed are still likely within its coverage area and can call to confirm. The company says it is also hiring additional tradespeople as its service area grows. For emergencies, the website lists a separate line, (207) 445-4092 ext. 2, in addition to its main number, (207) 405-0612.
