Streak Free Solutions Cleans Windows Across Greater Bangor

Streak Free Solutions, a locally owned window-washing and gutter-cleaning company based in Bangor, said it serves homeowners and businesses throughout Greater Bangor. According to its website, the company's services include window washing, window screen and track cleaning, gutter cleaning, commercial exterior cleaning and solar panel cleaning, and it said panels that go uncleaned can lose as much as 25% of their output, which a cleaning can restore.

Windows, Screens and Gutters

The company said window washing covers interior and exterior glass along with frames, sills and tracks, and that screens are removed, washed and dried separately before being put back. Streak Free Solutions said it recommends washing windows twice a year — once as spring pollen eases and again after the fall leaves drop — and that it uses eco-friendly products throughout its work. The company said it also offers commercial window cleaning for storefronts and offices, and scheduled solar panel cleaning aimed at keeping energy output up for homeowners with rooftop systems.

Older Storms, Newer Tilt-Ins

Streak Free Solutions said a lot of older homes in the Bangor, Brewer and Old Town area still pair wood sashes with aluminum combination storm windows, where the narrow gap between the two collects grit over the years. Newer construction in the area tends to use vinyl windows instead, the company said. Newer vinyl windows in towns such as Hermon and Hampden, the company said, use tilt-in sashes with small weep holes in the sill track that need to stay clear so rainwater can drain properly.
