Breeze Airways said on Oct. 13 that it will add nonstop flights between Portland International Jetport and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, beginning May 27, 2027, the Bangor Daily News reported.

The service will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.

David Neeleman, founder and chief executive of Breeze Airways, said the carrier evaluates new routes by asking where direct service can give travelers a convenience they do not have now, and described the additions as bringing "high-value, low-cost service" to the cities involved.

The Portland jetport is the busiest airport in Maine. It handled close to 2.6 million passengers in 2025, up from 2.4 million in 2024, according to figures posted on the airport's website. Through August 2026, the jetport had recorded more than 1.7 million passengers.

This story was first reported by Bangor Daily News.
