Portland's Hearts of Pine were knocked out of USL League One playoff contention in the week before Oct. 14, but the soccer club's business numbers have held up, the Portland Press Herald reported.
The club ranks second in the league for average crowd size at 6,235 per match at Fitzpatrick Stadium, behind only Boise and roughly 2,200 ahead of third-place Richmond, according to the Press Herald. Portland has sold out 38 matches in a row and is expected to do so again at its season finale against Charlotte Independence on Oct. 24. The team also plays at Forward Madison FC on Oct. 17.
Tickets carry an average face value of $27, but resale listings checked on StubHub on Oct. 14 showed pairs priced between $104 and $140 each and a single seat at $63, the Press Herald reported. The club's season-ticket waiting list runs to 8,000 names.
The Hearts lost far more often in 2026 than in their debut season, when they reached the league semifinals. The team gave up a goal in stoppage time 10 times in 30 matches.
Bass Pettitt, co-chair of supporters group Dirigo United, said new fans he meets through his job at Bayside Bowl talk mostly about the atmosphere rather than the result, though he expects steady losing would eventually wear on them.
The club is eyeing a possible new stadium on the Portland waterfront in 2029.
