Bangor Sandwich Co. Doubles Space, Adds Nine Menu Items June 1
The Central Street move gives owners room for new sandwiches, wraps and salads, plus staff that include people leaving a nearby recovery program.

Bangor Sandwich Co. will open on June 1 in a larger storefront next door to its current downtown Bangor location, according to owners Joe and Jen Ramos. The shop is moving from 25 Hammond St., where it opened in 2020, into the space at 1 Central St. most recently occupied by Grind House, the Bangor Daily News reported.
The new location is double the size of the current shop and includes an expanded kitchen that will let the owners add nine new menu items: three sandwiches made with homemade focaccia, plus three wraps and three salads. The shop's hours will stay the same, open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, Monday through Saturday, with no closure during the move.
Joe and Jen Ramos bought Bangor Sandwich Co. in 2022 after returning to the Bangor area to retire. Two years later, they also opened Orrington Pizza. The couple said they hire mostly high school and college students, along with young people leaving a nearby addiction recovery program, and train staff to take on leadership roles.
